Essay On Good Will Hunting

In the film Good Will Hunting, Will is a tough character with an incredible ability to solve extremely complex math theorems and equations. He ends up getting arrested for assault but, one of the professors that noticed his intelligence in math persuades the judge to release him from jail as long as he has weekly therapy sessions. Many psychologists turn him down and only see him as a waste of time but, Sean Maguire accepted the challenge. Sean finds an interest in Will because of his past and how he can relate to him. After multiple sessions, he eventually becomes a close friend with Will and gives him advice that changes his life for the better.

Will manages to make all the other psychologist give up on him by taking their sessions as a joke. Unlike all those other psychologists, Sean can actually relate to Will and sees all the potential within him. He never gives up on Will even though he went as far as talking bad about Sean’s dead wife. Will had a rough childhood and was very insecure due to the fact that he is an orphan and was abused by his foster parents. Sean agrees to keep meeting with Will and helping him mentally in order to guide him into a better future for himself. Once their final therapy session came and they decided to still keep in contact with each other in case of anything. Will was eventually motivated to go after Skylar to get her back and change his life around by accepting one of the jobs he was after. He was clearly motivated by Sean because he had left a letter for him saying, “ I had to go see about a girl” which was used by Sean when he first met his soon to be wife. No one is a perfect and everyone has a breaking point despite how tough that person
