On Christmas Eve Washington and his rag tag troops crossed the Delaware River during a winter storm with wind chill temps down to zero degrees as they battled ice, rain, snow and fierce winds to hunt down British troops for a surprise attack. After he battled and defeated the British Army he was hailed as a king because he gained America’s freedom and independence.

He dealt with the imminent threat of a divided nation which was going to break apart and fragment the U.S. into two separate nations: The Union North and the Confederate South. The Civil War was not fought over slavery, instead it was fought over “secession.” Lincoln had to keep the United States from coming apart. Lincoln embarked on a war that no leader should ever be forced to face: a war against fellow countrymen. After the Civil War, he succeeded in keeping the nation together. But it came at a high price where Lincoln lost his life to a confederate sympathizer known as John Wilkes Booth. Thus, Lincoln goes down in history as one of the greatest leaders of all time.
These two presidents are spawned as 1% percenters. Think of it like this … Washington is like Moses as the great liberator while Lincoln is like King David as the great unifier. They were iconic presidents. They are in are wallets, in purses, and in every school classroom in the United States.
