Besides,’ Atticus grinned, ‘I doubt if we’d ever get a complete case tried - the ladies'd be interrupting to ask questions.’(Pg 296) Women were consider as a weak emotional type of person. There were no chance for them to get a career, there job are just simply, stay home, take care of the children, and being weak. For example, Mayella was raped by her father, never met another man, except for Tom Robinson.Instead of Suing her father she sue Tom Robinson, because she is not brave enough to take a stand for herself in front of her father, so she blame it all on Tom Robinson, only person she can blame having lower power than her. After all ,the 1930’s society, women discrimination still is a major problem, that people haven’t change about their mind set, that have been there forever. No one attempt to change the rule, and just kept on accepting the fact that women need to be delicate and weak that man told them to pressuring the women led them no way but facing the truth that they are weak and admit that they need the protection from men.Even now, things are getting better with women gaining more respect but gender discrimination still exist and it will be like this as long as there’s women and men existing in this

Even with all of these obstacles, Scout persists. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, the author explores the idea of sexism in the 1930s. For example, at the beginning of the book, Jem begins to treat Scout like she is below him with direct references to her sex. One instance of this is when he says, "Scout, I'm tellin' you for the last time, shut your trap or go home—I declare to the Lord you're gettin' more like a girl every day!".…

Unfair Discrimination Legal systems are classified as fair and equal to all citizens today, but looking back at past cases such as the dreadful Emmett Till case, and Tom Robinson from “To Kill a Mockingbird” things have really taken a leap from the atrocious treatment against blacks . Legal systems were one of the main bumps in the road when it came to discrimination against blacks. Whether it was a small case, or a huge case things in court always seemed to go in favor of white people. Some say white people just always had that unfair advantage, but it is something people will never know without living in the 30s through the 60s, with major segregation. During this time period court would have a separate place for black people to sit, away from the white people.…

As Bonnie Hammer once said, “Prejudice and discrimination based on our differences is an unfortunate fact of life”.
