There are many things that define catholic citizenship. The first thing to talk about is the right to life. Every single person and animal has the right to live and enjoy God’s creation. Every living thing has the right to breathe, eat, and drink of God’s creation. Therefore, abortion is wrong. It is intentionally killing a living, unborn and breathing child of God. Even if someone does not want a child they can still put them up for adoption. That is part of the reason that the adoption system in the United States was created. Even if someone doesn’t want to put a child through adoption, they can always give the baby to their relatives.

Marriage should be performed in a church by a priest with family and friends attending the celebration. Since marriage is one of the seven sacraments, it is to be respected and revered. More recently, marriage has been redefined by allowing the service to take place outside a church. Another thing to discuss is immigration. There are many tragedies happening in the world right now where people are being forced to escape their own countries. A lot of Americans think we need to help them in their struggle. Understanding that America doesn’t have unlimited resources and we need to take care of Americans, but we should still help when possible. Other countries are already helping and I applaud them for that. But, other countries have reached space and financial limitations. What some of the presidential candidates are saying about immigration makes me worry about who will be the next person to lead this country. Donald Trump says he will build a wall to keep all immigrants out. This makes me concerned for this country. We need to help these immigrants not hurt them. America needs to give them food and water, not tear gas and rubber bullets. This country has enough food, water, jobs, and space for these immigrants, and we need to help them. This can’t be stressed
