Essay On Game Week

For my first reflection, I figured I would write about one of the biggest weekly events on campus: the football game. The game I am speaking of is the Iowa State game and I hope to give a perspective of what is like to be a player at TCU and how we experience the game. To many, this game was probably very boring because it was at 11 in the morning and we were able to handle our business without much stress. However, it is also a game where I feel like I can illustrate the design thinking process that goes into each game as we had to prepare for it like every other game. During a football season, the grind can become a real factor as the design thinking process is pretty much repeated each week in preparation for a game. Much more than …show more content…
The thing is we had already made that same play, but that time, it was on Tuesday. It’s funny to me when I look at the design process and see how utterly similar it is to how we prepare for games. A typical game week starts on Monday after a brief Sunday practice to get our legs moving again and transition from the previous game, which in this case was the loss to Arkansas. Then on Monday we start what I believe is the empathy stage of design thinking. To think like your opponent, you must know your opponent, and every Monday the coaches are in meetings watching the film of the opponent and getting an idea of what they do schematically. Players will also come in and do the exact same thing at various times throughout the day, I always go in at lunch time for an hour or two to get a general idea of what Iowa state does offensively. On Tuesday, we install the base of our gameplan, which is our define phase of game week, and have practice. This practice is one where we run our base plays to Iowa States and we establish the roots of what we are going to do come Saturday. On “wicked Wednesdays” as coach P calls it, we run

In my argumentative essay I defend why football is a dangerous sport and should be avoided with young children ages 6-12. My previous essay used data from secondary sources and primary sources, however supporting my stance with only words was a challenge. Without visual and audio elements I felt I had trouble communicating with the reader. My remediation into a prezi uses a combination of videos and images to present the consequences of playing football. To support my claims I use evidence from expert researchers and certified doctors.…

I could feel the cold, crisp air seeping through my jersey as I watched our struggling defense. Who were jaded and bittered, letting up more than 28 points this game. “Game Day” isn’t a regular day at Xavier University of Louisiana; it’s a day for Xavier’s Golden Nugget’s to defend their pride, while we cast our wide angel lens towards the basketball court, capturing the engulfing reflection pool in all of its pride. Athletics are a big part to most universities and students’ life. Either they love to participate or some love to go and cheer their peers and colleagues on. I learned this while working at a Xavier’s Women basketball game. I wanted to see my fellow students in a less stressed atmosphere, rather than a classroom. My interest was also peaked because I watched basketball games in high school…

Nonetheless, a college football player can be drafted into the NFL after he has completed his education, or he can choose to get a good job from using his education he got from attending a college.
