Another large attraction housed in Flagstaff is, Snowbowl. Snowbowl started in 1938 and has been growing every year since. Lately, there is a large controversy over the fact that Snowbowl has been using reclaimed water to elongate the ski/snowboard season. Perhaps the largest reason Flagstaff is still relevant today is because of Northern Arizona University. NAU was founded in 1899 and today over 30,000 plus attend the School today. NAU has evolved since 1899, the campus has grown significantly and has expanded the degree programs. Currently, Northern Arizona University offers over 90 undergraduate degrees and has a faculty to student ration of 18:1. The train, snowbowl, and Northern Arizona University are the main attractions in Flagstaff. They also house most of the jobs and help support the City the most.
