Season long fantasy football is a game played by millions across the United States, and recently a new form of it has become popular too, daily fantasy football. In this format you draft a new team every single week. Because fantasy football is a game of skill, the government does not consider it gambling, therefor making it legal to place wagers on your teams on sites like Fanduel. In reality, luck is involved, but if you look at some advanced statistics you can eliminate a lot of the gamble. I go by this quote I heard on the radio, “the numbers may tease you at times but they will never lie.” There are many different ways to create a lineup each week, and I am going to show you a simple one that even beginners can follow and have some success. For those unfamiliar with fantasy football, I am going to give a little background on some of the basics. A standard lineup consists of 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 3 wide receivers, 1 tight end, 1 kicker, and 1 defense(of an entire team). In daily fantasy football you get a salary cap,and on Fanduel it is 60,000. This is not real money. The main two types of games are large tournaments consisting of 100,000 …show more content…
Before playing any 50/50 games you might want to just sit and watch football all day sunday to get familiar with the game. Look for the little things that might impact fantasy stats, like how much garbage time there is, instead of just looking at the score of the game. Remember when building your lineup start with your receivers first, then pick your running backs, quarterback,tight end and defense. Following these guidelines is a start to success, but in order to have continued success over long periods of time you have to learn how to interpret the numbers. You have to find that one telling stat each week that no one else is looking at and put it to the test. It is the key to building a successful lineup each
