A total globalization of a fair minimum wage will probably never be obtained. This is due to an always present unrest in the world and presently established governments that care little or the citizens of their country. There is a greater chance or opportunity of improving a country’s economy through educational means and the aid of establishing growth in industry and trade. This would lead to less financial stress and a more open and helping government. We must recognize and respect that many nations have lived within a certain life style for centuries. What we and more economic advanced countries must understand: what may be oppression or poverty to us is natural to another. If we are to aid in a more economic and humanitarian effort towards those with that mindset, we must accept that it will not only require great effort but much time.
The solution to a fair minimum wage is one that would be the bases of standard living. This would be a three step process, involving the more advanced economic nations, third world countries, and countries of unrest. In looking at Indonesia and Ecuador we see that those national minimum wages do not meet a good financial standard of living. We also must take note that in the raising of minimum wage in those countries unemployment also rises. A lack of enforcement in minimum wage laws permit a less amount of money to be paid to the individual. This can be simply defined as a matter of survival for that individual.
