Essay On Elon Musk's First Car Into Space

Improved Essays
It’s official; Elon Musk and SpaceX have sent a car into space. In Cape Canaveral, Florida the world’s first car in space took off on its journey beyond Mars. Musk’s car, a Tesla Roadster was the fastest car ever in space. The car flew in the Falcon Heavy Rocket, “the most powerful rocket flying these days” says Newsela. If all goes to plan, the Roadster can go all the way to the asteroid belt in between Jupiter and Mars. Elon Musk stated that the car traveled farther than expected and the car might just go father than the dwarf planet, Ceres which is in the asteroid belt, although the car was only supposed to go as far as the planet Mars. Inside the car sits a life-size mannequin who was named “Starman” after the song by David Bowie. Astronaut, Ricky Arnold was awestruck by the Starman. Arnold tweeted, “Awesome! At this speed, two hands on the steering wheel please! #Starman”. Musk stated that the Heavy will mostly be used to launch supersize satellites and will not be used to fly …show more content…
Although, I don’t think a city on Mars will happen anytime soon. Musk shares with the HuffPost that he is planning on starting a city on Mars in five years. This doesn’t seem safe nor economical. Will people start living on Mars? What will become of planet Earth once the city in space is created? Another reason why I don’t think this is a good idea is that no average person is going to spend millions of dollars to live in space. Also, IF one day there is a city on Mars, nobody is going to drop everything they have worked for their entire life-graduating college, getting a job, getting married, just to live on Mars. Elon Musk and his team are going to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on building a city on Mars and probably only (at most) a hundred people will pay to live there since it will cost millions of dollars. This is why I don’t think sending a car into space will lead to a city on

One thing that surprised me about the car was that the car tires were filled with nitrogen gas instead of compressed air. Nitrogen is a colorless and odorless non-toxic gas used to reduce the temperature of the tire and increase its lifespan. In races, it may be able to keep tire pressure more constant and slow pressure loss without reacting to the tire and rim materials. Another thing that surprised me about the car was its design and build. What really caught my eye was that the inside of the body shell of the car.…

Mars colonization means that we should send some normal people (enough for reproduction, at least 100 people), land on Mars and live in Mars. This is a similar process with what we have done in America. Our journey to Mars is truly difficult. Until now, we have or had 12 spacecraft orbit and 12 spacecraft land on Mars, but half of our mission failed on the journey to Mars (data from NASA). However, we are still incessant trying to get the gate of the Mars.…

The film Moonstruck (1987) demonstrates the concepts of Freud’s Jokes and the Unconscious through the use of tendentious jokes, specifically those that are hostile or aggressive. The film also illustrates the narrative concepts for “New Comedies” laid out by Northrop Frye, which are the senex or authority figure that the protagonist competes with for the object of his desire, the “Green World,” and the social renewal via the uniting of one or more romantic couples. One notable example of a hostile tendentious joke is during Johnny’s call to Loretta from Italy. The first shot begins with a medium shot of Johnny, a middle aged Italian man in a button down shirt, open suit vest and undone tie, speaking on the phone to Loretta in the foreground.…

My first car was something that I greatly was looking forward to getting as a child and my interest in getting one grew, as the days got closer to my sixteenth birthday. The first car I owned was a Automatic Black 2004 Ford f-150 truck, which I discovered on a website called Craigslist. It was priced at five thousand nine hundred dollars with only eighty-four thousand miles on it, which in my case was great considering that I could only afford a seven thousand dollar car. The truck came with all manual locks and windows and also had a small amount of hail damage that could really only be seen at a certain angle. But even with reasonable price on the truck I still attempted to negotiate for an even lower price to further my luck.…
