A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart (Zeus from Hercules)." When you see a true fighter you can see it in their eyes. My mother, Dorothy Perez, is without a doubt, proof that there is no one who shows more qualities of a hero than she does. Dorothy Perez, my "mama's" strength and warmhearted soul compare to no other. Does my mother have superhuman strength like the Hulk? No, but she achieves more than I can ever know or say I can get through without having mental breakdowns. [My mother is] the sunset, and I am the waves,... She has lost a son at birth, my oldest brother, and had a miscarriage, long term injuries from numerous amounts of car wrecks and raised four children on her own. In like matter, my mother is a paintbrush to her very own work of art always making everyday more colorful. She is greatly appreciated for her unconditional love, compassion, bravery, and warmhearted spirit. Growing up looking back at memories of her at my school functions, kid sick days, and lectures for future decisions, she has always done everything by herself excluding my family. She has done everything from going to work, coming home, and getting her kids up early for school each and every day to going back to work graveyard. She is the most amazing person I have ever known. My "mama" may not have the strength to do laundry, pick up boxes, or carry things from one place to the next from her nerve damage, but that means absolutely nothing. I hope and pray as each day passes, she realizes how much her children truly admire her for her hard work and dedication to giving us the best possible future that she wasn't able to
