Politics are always exciting, however, presidential political debates are arguably the best. Each candidate must persuade the country to vote for him (or her) to become the next Commander-in-Chief. Candidates participate in numerous debates to not only win over their party but the country as a whole. These debates, along with lies and secrets begin early. This leads to an intriguingly long and scrutinous race. Many politicians resort to fallacies sooner rather than later. For instance, if one takes a closer look at Donald Trump, the front-runner for the republicans, one will see his many examples of Ad Hominem and understand the art of this fallacy. Donald Trump is the master of begging the question fallacy, which occurs when "someone assumes what he or she is trying to prove" (Kessler 32). Although, it is unclear if he truly believes what he says, much of it is simply bad reasoning. After all, his go-to phrase is you dummy (Sottek). Donald Trump is the key to understanding Ad Hominem fallacies.

He says that Hillary Clinton is easily influenced "because this maniac that was standing on her right is giving everything away, so she's following!" (Cummings). Trump kills two birds with one stone in that line alone. He says that Bernie Sanders is a maniac and therefore, Hilary must be as well because they share similar views. Trump even goes as far as saying that he would call Sanders a communist, he plays to the crowds side by saying that the democrats are, "going to tax you people at 90%, [they will] take everything!" (Cummings). However, in reality, Trump is being extreme in his claims. Yet, the support is still shown by the crowds
