Domestic Violence Relationships
Domestic violence has always been an issue in America, but has only more recently became a problem on a larger scale. Over about the past ten years, there has been an ever increasing amount of domestic violence cases reported throughout the United States. Domestic violence can include any act of violence, verbal or physical, that causes harm to a spouse, family member, or people of any current or physical relationship to the individual accused of the crime. With the increase in domestic violence, there has also since been a crackdown, and more serious interpretation of the law in order to protect its victims.

Believe it or not, even with the increasing amount of cases reported annually, governments, both local and national, have been making strides and have come a long way in protecting victims of domestic violence. The federal government has introduced programs such as Office on Women’s Health, and the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, that protect violence against women and girls. They have even went as far as to implement a national “It’s On Us” program which is meant to be the idea that it is up to the victims of domestic abuse to come forward and talk about their problems to the authorities in order to put an end to the domestic violence directed towards them, and the other people suffering from this all throughout the country. Project Connect is an example of another program implemented to deal with this issue. Their role in the community is to change how adolescent and reproductive health are effected from domestic violence. They are especially dedicated to helping less fortunate communities that do not have the money to make it out of these situations on their own. Domestic violence is very serious. And its an important issue that I feel needs to be addressed to the public. I feel as though is we address the problem and do everything we can to fix it, people who are getting abused wouldn’t feel so helpless and
