The truth of the matter is that we have all picked up our phone while driving and read a text message or checked a notification. Something that seems so "innocent" took the life of a sixteen year old girl. She was texting her friend and taking Snapchats when she lost control of her car and crashed on to a tree on Glades Road causing her to die instantly.

It seems like every parent around here is talking to their kids about the dangers of using a cellphone while driving. Even her parents are trying to raise awareness on the dangers of texting and driving in order to try and prevent a case like their daughter's death to happen to anyone. The main message that her family is trying to portray is that it can wait. Driving is a big responsibility and usually a teenager's first taste of independence. A car is a deadly weapon which is why you need to be responsible and cautious while driving. Is checking a notification or texting someone while you're driving really worth your life? I'm sure if she had a second chance she would never use her phone while driving again. So make the smart decision and learn from the mistakes others have made.
