Some of them are taken more seriously than others . One of our rules is to always try your hardest in speed workouts. Speed workouts are shorter but more intense workouts that are essential for our improvement. These workouts are the most difficult and hurt the most, so it can be easy for one to not give it their all. This is frown upon since it is not fair for one member to be giving it their all while another is simply going through the motion of running. Another rule that we have is to never race doing a normal or recover run. What it is meant by racing workouts is to run hard on workouts that we have no intention on going hard. Workouts such as regular mileage runs and recovery runs should be run a conversational pace, too fast can result in overtraining which can be detrimental to one’s improvement.The most important rule within our community is perhaps to be supportive of the other runners. We have runners of all levels some can run mile in under five minutes while others are running under six minutes. We try to supportive and attempt to offer advice and motivation. Being mentally strong is extremely important within running, thus if someone had a poor race or workout we do not want them to start doubting themselves. Creating a positive environment is invaluable for improvement, so our rules are centered around fostering that type of
