Upon commencing work within Dewis each employee must sign Dewis’ code of conduct which reflects that of CIH. Dewis’ work is primarily with vulnerable young people therefore there is a key need for staff to respect and equally treat other individuals. Both through the code of conduct and the organisation’s equal opportunities policy there is a key emphasis on recognising diversity, understanding equality and promoting inclusion. The services Dewis offer are therefore the same for any young person who presents themselves at their office. There is also a clear respect for personal information with data held securely and conversations conducted privately within an interview room.

The reason for suggesting this is that a number of the guidelines were in place through the organisation due to a number of other key legislation and policies such as the Equality Act (2010), Data Protection Act (1998), etc. The CIH code of Conduct has therefore played a significant part in reinforcing other key legislation and presenting another tool to hold organisations to account should they ignore any of the
