Deception. Deception is everywhere in politics! Throughout history, many people have been using the art of artifice, or deception to try and persuade people to join their side. These people often make up facts within their cause to obtain more followers. In politics, this is everywhere. Politics have been known to be full of lies throughout world history. One would say that artifice is the most important skill to have in the world. This is due to how politics have been corrupted in America in the past and some political leaders have lied in their campaigns. Throughout many times in history, some presidents have used the spoils system during their presidency. Take former president Barack Obama, for example, he said that he will come to common terms with Russia and it will happen no matter what. Years later, Russia and America are not as strong of allies as Japan and America. Also, during the most recent campaign Hillary Clinton had lied straight to her audience and hid from the public basically. She had her own secret email server back when she was secretary of state. There are other times she had changed her position from her original opinion on a topic, just to please the voters and get her into office.
Some people may say that artifice is not the most essential skill to have in politics because the person is lying to their audience. However, most people have lied to someone in their life to persuade or impress them such as exaggerate a story or tell the story a different to make them agree with you.
