I personally have had some prejudices towards others based on sexual orientation. The reason for this being that I was raised in a strict Christian household where I was taught that homosexuality was sinful, and should be looked down on. This is not to say that all Christians are spiteful towards homosexuals, I was just conditioned to think that being homosexual was bad. I had never met an openly homosexual person until I started a job where my manager was gay. As I became more aware of homosexuality through different types of media, I began to learn about the struggles that they face in America as a minority group, and how many of them are decent human beings that are trying to make their own way in life. Although I still personally believe that homosexuality is wrong, it does not prevent me from accepting a homosexual person as they are. I do believe that I have been able to move past my prejudices towards homosexuals. I have a belief in which I hold to a higher regard, that everyone should be given the same opportunity to be accepted, regardless of
