This civil was only a 44 day war but it was the bloodiest war in the twenty first century. During the 44 day war there was an estimated 2,000 men that died At the end of the civil war Figueres ruled for a year and a half as head of a provisional government and left after the next elections. Ever since this war there has been no more political violence.
