Technology Corrupting the Socialization Process

In today’s trending realm, technology is prohibiting the general public to mature naturally in a social life.
Socialization is an education development that originates shortly after birth and continues throughout the course of a lifetime. Socialization is how individuals learn to communicate, and as we age, we learn how to develop those communication skills. New technology is constantly changing, which means people are having less face-to-face interaction. Did you know according to an article entitled, Communication Changes with Technology, Social Media written by Hayley Eastmen; about 4.1 billion text messages are sent per day in the United States. I can see how this is so true all you have to do is pull it out of your pocket, it is the furthermost convenient invention ever made. The internet gives us a new way at looking at the World as one whole, it has made cultural activities easier and more accessible to exchange ideas, catch up the latest hot topic, and learn about the weather for the upcoming week. Because of technology, we are allowed to communicate with other countries, talk to different people to learn their language, beliefs, values, norms, behaviors, and even learn about material objects that are passed from one generation to the next, according to chapter 2 in the textbook, Sociology a Down to Earth Approach. The United States defiantly uses all of their sources to express to the rest of the world what is happening in America today. We have newscast that proclaim the latest information about politics, the newest food, and the latest trends. However, watching television is not the only way the United States broadcast out to other countries, they can pick up a magazine, newspaper, and glance down at the latest piece of technology in their hand. …show more content…
It is obvious that if a group’s technology changes, so do the ways people do things. Technology has changed that way we as people do things like as this quote by Lawrence Clark Powell says, “We are the children of a technological age. We have found streamlined ways of doing much of our routine work. Printing is no longer the only way of reproducing books. Reading them, however, has not changed.” As you probably know most of the objects or material items were not originally founded in the United States and that makes the United States one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. We have inherited different kinds of language like Spanish, it is one of the most newly learned languages in the United
