Essay On College Athletes Should Be Paid

For quite some time there continues to be a major argument over whether or not college athletes should be paid. Many questions come with statement as to whether this should apply to D1 schools or any division that participates in athletics? Another question remains as to whether or not the sports teams that earn the most profits should receive money? Before you can answer any of those questions the main question remains as to whether or not college athletes should be paid?
Athletes are not just athletes when going to college they are student athletes, this means that they are students first then an athlete. In many cases however students are expected to put there athletics above their education. This is because colleges realize how important

An argument also stands with weather or not colleges even have enough money to give student athletes with all of the extra things that they have to put money into. This would include keeping up to date facilities, paying for the food for students to eat, free student activities, paying for equipment for sports activities. Also paying for technology that is used to help teach students in classrooms and gives them a higher learning of their education. With all of these expenses that colleges have to pay for where would they find the extra money to pay athletes? And more people will come up with more reasons as to why they should and to why they shouldn’t. Really the only way to figure out who would be right or wrong would be to put yourself in a college athletes shoe and see how you feel personally about the situation. Me as an athlete myself understand completely to feel like you are putting in all this work but not getting paid more than what your scholarships can cover for your tuition. Works Cited
