Views and beliefs from big thinkers such as John Locke, John Milton, and Adam smith were the creation of an ideology known as liberalism. It was categorized as classical liberalism as the word seemed to have evolved and gained new meanings. Classical liberalism was all over Europe especially in Great Britain. When British citizens moved to the America to get away from the British rule a new world was created. America had a revolution against the British monarch and gain their own independence as a new country. During the American Revolution many documents were formed and put in place to determine the type of government the United States will have. Important people such as Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin and many others were involved in the writing of documents such as the declaration of independence, the Constitution and the bill of rights. These important men had different ideas but most of which were liberal views that enlightenment thinkers before them believed in.
