In order to perform civic action against abortion I would first have to study the reasons of abortion. Usually, the main reasons of abortion are; ignorance, poverty, irresponsibility, and abuse of free will as it is more relevant in developing countries. To start tackling this issue I would have to raise awareness on the consequences of this issue and provide alternatives to abortion procedures in case of an ‘unwanted’ pregnancy. To raise awareness, I would use different outlets like social media, informative videos and signs. It would be something along these lines. As the saying goes “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” and instead of having to abort a baby, why not practice safe, protected sex at a mature age with a stable income that can raise a child, preferably within a marriage. When people make decisions like abortion, they often don’t take the time to realize the consequences like what if the procedure fails and poses a risk to the mother’s health or if the child is not aborted correctly and the child lives with the physical and psychological trauma that may scar them for life because they might think that their parents did not want them, is that what you want your child to live …show more content…
Taking civic action like attending city hall meetings and presenting my perspective on this issue would help build this claim. Also having support from more people with the same opinion would really push my case forward therefore I would either bring people to these meeting, have them sign a petition, or have a peaceful protest to voice our mutual perspective on the issue. These kinds of civic action like March for Life held annually in Ottawa, ON help further elevate the claim by applying pressure on politicians to listen to the people’s voice and promotes
