All citizens of the United States, no matter the age, are required to follow all federal, state, and local laws. Laws allow society to run and function smoothly and safely; they keep order and peace throughout the country. If people did whatever they wanted whenever they wanted with no respect to anyone else’s rights, a society could not exist. Policemen and other law enforcement officers work to protect the safety of all citizens. It is important and our responsibility to respect and defend these men and women. It is important that every eligible person vote to ensure the right candidate is elected to lead our country. People who do not vote, do not have a voice in government.
