Within today's society, there are many religions that impact our perception and the way we worship. Catholicism and Protestantism are two very known religions within the world today. There are significant differences between the two religions, from their views on salvation, to their views on traditions, to even the teaching authority of the Roman Catholic Church which is referred to as the Magisterium. Even with these differences between the two faiths there are followers all over the world. Catholicism is followed by approximately 1.2 billion people worldwide, which roughly 40 percent are found in Latin America and the easiest way to identify a Catholic person is a person that is in communion with a bishop who is in communion with a bishop of Rome. Having faith in Jesus Christ and knowledge of him was given to the Catholics by god as a means of salvation, and Catholics are supposed to embrace his teachings, and even if one turns his or her back on God, they are allowed repentance which means to review ones actions or feelings for which they regret, and they can go back to God. Lastly is baptism, and according to the Gospel of Peter 3:21 it states “baptism now saves you,” although it contradicts some of the other passages of scriptures such as in the Gospel of Luke. Baptism is performed when one believes in the gospel, and to assure us that our full birthright from children of God will be delivered. Catholics treat Grace similar to a substance through avenues of change, but once your saved by grace it is a constant movement towards the right direction for salvation or does it happen once, this is a where the two religions tend to
