#1 Don’t Rush Out Of The Recovery Area
After your surgery you will be taken to a recovery area. This is an area where you can rest and really wake up from either your sedation or anesthesia. Do not feel like you have to rush out of the recovery area.
If you are still sleeping, take some time to rest and nap. As you wake up, wait until you no longer feel groggy before you attempt to get up and leave the recovery area. Remember, this area is made for you to rest in; don’t rush the process. …show more content…
Don’t bend over; this simple action can put extra pressure on your eyes. If you need assistance with your shoes or anything else that requires you to bend over, ask for help. Your eyes need as much rest and as little pressure as possible on them right now.
#3 Get A Rid Home From Your Surgery
Even if you leave your surgery feeling great, you should not drive home. Your eyes just underwent a huge operation, and need a chance to rest. Driving requires a lot of your eyes, and is more than they should have to handle right after you have had surgery.
Arrange before hand to have someone drive you home for your surgery. If you need to go anywhere else in the day of your surgery, make sure that you have someone to drive you.
#4 Rest When You Get Home
Even if you don’t feel that groggy or tired, your eyes need to rest from all the stress that they were under. Lay down and allow your eyes and body to rest for a few hours.
If you are not tired, have some put on some music for you to listen to, or listen to a book on tape.Engage your ears if you are not tired, but let your eyes rest and recover. If you can help it, try not to arrange anything else during the day of your surgery. This should be a day for your to
