During the trial of Tom Robinson's case, many questions arose. Every person had something to do with the trail. Including Calpurnia. Calpurnia has faced racist comments recently as she was taking care of Atticus kids. She took them to a colored church as it is the church she has always gone too. Lula one of Calpurnia's friend criticized her for bringing white children to church. But the congregation was friendly to the kids. Everyone was telling the kids that they know their father which made the kids feel welcome. Calpurnia can’t help but face these comments because she works for a white family, she really is like a second mom to the kids, she’s not just their cook. Since she’s with them most of the time she can’t help but come across rude statements like these.

They felt good that she does have a life when she is not with their family, and that if anything were to happen to them there would be people there for her.
Racism is obviously playing a big role in this community. Calpurnia faces a lot of it. She doesn’t let it get to her as she loves the kids. She knows that since she is at their house most of the time that she would be facing a lot of racist comments just for helping them. There are people in the church that really enjoyed having the kids visit. While others were deeply offended. Calpurnia cared so much about the children that she would jump in front of a bullet for them. During the trial, she was just trying to comfort the kids, getting them to relax, and know that everything was going to be okay. If Calpurnia was not apart of their lives I think the family would not be in the place that they are now. She has brought so many positive outlooks, into the
