Drought in California A drought is a period of abnormally low rainfall. This is the situation central california is suffering at the moment. This is very alarming considering that a lot of crops are grown in the central valley for example cotton, cotton is not a plant we eat but we need it to make clothes. If this continues thousands of people are going to lose their jobs and food is going to go up in price. This will dramatically affect the state economy considering that people are going to lose their jobs. This is one of the reasons droughts are so dangerous, they can’t be predicted. The Californian drought began all the way back in 2011, that's 5 years it’s been since then. The reason for why California’s in a drought is because we are currently under a high pressure zone up in the sky. With no water a lot of people are going to lose jobs. Since water is becoming scarce less crops are going to be grown and the price of produce is going to rise. But the main impact the drought has is people being cut from their jobs. The University of California estimated that more than 10,000 lost their farm jobs. This is a big deal, people are now jobless and can’t provide for their families.
From all i gathered, you’d probably came to the conclusion that this is a serious matter. However, you can help by saving water from everyday tasks that you do. I'm going to give you some of ideas of how you can conserve the luxury that is water. First of all, if you have leak in your home get it fixed asap, this little problem can save 20 gallons of water a day. Lastly you can always shorten the time you shower this will save lots of water. These are just a few of the many ways you can conserve water, by doing this it’ll certainly help our drought
