Lastly Mrs. Uma Murthy a middle aged Brighton mother views the boundaries mostly by educational institutions from Boston College to Harvard to Boston University and ending at Brookline. The entirety of Brighton covers 2.78 square miles and is connected to Alston. Within Brighton the MBTA green line runs two trains the B on Commonwealth Ave and the C line across the southern tip on Beacon Street. Brighton also hosts multiple local and express busses. Historically Brighton has been a part of multiple of its surrounding communities. In 1630 the land was considered part of Watertown, then became a part of Cambridge earning the name Little Cambridge for its farming community. It became what we today know as Brighton in 1807 and half a decade later voted to join within the City of Boston. Brighton’s roads, people, and economic success was influenced greatly by the cattle industry housing multiple slaughterhouses and the Brighton Stalk
