The age of these volunteers range from young high school students to the elderly adults giving back to the community. I took direction from them because they were more familiar with how things work; I stocked shelves by the genre of the book. I also stamped the books with the Book Thing logo to ensure the book couldn’t be resoled for profit. People from the neighborhood and even people from not around the area could come and get donated books free of charge. I observed all different ethnicities and age groups while stocking the books away. There was a book for everyone.
Book Thing is very helpful to people who are less fortunate. It also promotes and increases intellectual stability by providing the public with the free books. My experience wasn’t the most exciting but I would defiantly volunteer here again. I would want to be more hands on or interact with people looking for books more, in order to get more
