The Big Bang Theory is the on-going explanation about how the universe began. The theory talks about the universe as we know it starting with a small originality, then expanding over the next 13.8 billion years to the universe we know of today. The phrase "Big Bang Theory" has been popular among astrophysicists for decades. The idea is that the universe began with an explosion more than 14 billion years ago, and many scientists also believe our universe and others, come from a “singularity”. According to the theory formulated in 1927, the universe is still expanding today. The known evidence for the Big Bang theory suggests that there is an existence of a Cosmic Background Microwave Radiation, and Red Shift.

Many theories predicted that after “The Big Bang”, there would have been a remarkable amount of release of radiation. Billions of years later, this radiation would also have been continuing to move away faster from us that the wavelength from this radiation would have been moved from being visible light to the CMB we see today. One of the major pieces of evidence for the big bang theory is that galaxies appear to be moving away from us at speeds that are relational to their distance. This piece of evidence is known as “Hubble’s Law”, and this phenomenon was discovered in in1929 by Edwin Hubble. His observation supports the expansion of the universe and also proposes that the entire universe billions of years ago, was once compacted. This piece of evidence discovered by Edwin Hubble, has provided many modern day astronomers with much needed help to gain evidence for the theory of the Big Bang. It has also been discovered that the abundance of “light elements” Hydrogen and Helium which have been found in the universe, have also helped to support the Big Bang Theory beginnings.
