With school uniforms being put into effect in schools the school intruder rate will reduce. Jack Murtha comments,“An intruder can easily be identified and removed in school or on school grounds before, during or after school hours,” because students are in uniform, said Lodi Superintendent Frank Quatrone, by email. “Police and law enforcement officials can immediately identify our children at the scene of an emergency situation” (Murtha L3). This shows that school uniforms help to improve school safety because when you make everyone wear the same thing, when someone comes in that isn't supposed to be there it can be easy to spot them immediately.…

It disables them from expressing their personalities through clothing, which hinders them from their independence and confidence. Critics say that individualism plays an important role when one transitions from childhood into adulthood and uniforms keeps students from this self-development. Critics may also claim that the initial cost of uniforms can be very expensive.
