The person I had the pleasure of interviewed is Mrs. Alejandra Campos she is an Academic Advisor in Houston Community College, the institution I currently work in. When I interviewed Mrs. Campos I asked her several questions, the main reasons she became an Academic Advisor was because her parents inspired and motivated her to pursue her career. Once she received her Bachelor’s degree she started working as an Academic Advisor and the approximately salary is $35,000. The top three traits and skills as an academic advisor are to be an effective advisor should have good personality, helpful, initiative and detailed. She evaluates her success when students ask to see her, when colleagues refer students to her and especially when new students ask to speak to her because their friend told them to see her because she is a great academic advisor. Her strengths are being patient with students and detailed also taking the initiative to further assist them even when it is not from her department.
