How are pediatricians make life better for growing children? When did they start making a difference in child health? Why did they fully become part of the priority healthcare? What is their reason for treating child illness? For many years, pediatricians have been helping children from newborn to adolescents in many different areas. They spend nearly sixty hours of their day making sure every child is happy and healthy. They built strong bonds with the children they have seen and help make a child’s day a little better. In order to move on to receiving an MD, one must attend four years at Medical school, before going onto three years of residency for a specialty in medicine. After completing these three years of residency, and now there's a pediatrician in the world and are eligible to become certified in pediatrics by passing a test administered by the American Board of Pediatrics. During college, most med students take a “Premed” curriculum, including some basic science courses, although some universities have a “Premed” major, many allow you to take other majors that interest you. The best majors that make the best medical school candidates, include music, philosophy and English, meaning you don’t need a “Premed”, Chemistry, or Biology major. All you’ll simply need to fulfill the basic science courses, biology, chemistry, physics, and calculus. Many colleges allow a major in healthcare, which allows movement into Med school. The University of Washington offers the School of Medicine, but to be accepted a student must pass the Medical College Admission Test or MCAT. To be a pediatrician, a desire to work with children isn’t the only ability needed; you need patience, humor, and the ability to make a diagnosis when a patient is unable to what is wrong.
