Essay On Becoming A Member Of The NHS

Ever since I came to Whiting High School as a freshman, I’ve been looking forward to the chance of being a member of the National Honor Society. It’s always been known to me that I have to work hard in order to reach the benefits of life, and this is one of those rewards. Receiving the letter of my eligibility made my day, and I anticipate for all that the potential future could hold for me with this opportunity. In my eighth grade year, I was part of my school’s student council, which is a very fond memory that I miss. And now with the opportunity to become an actual member of the NHS, I hope to positively relive similar experiences, along with making many new ones for our school. Naturally, I can tend to be a quiet person at first. It takes me a while to adjust to new situations and people, but after a while, I can warm up to them just fine. Thankfully, there shouldn’t be any problems like this if I happen to get accepted, because other students that I already know well will also be joining along. Many know that I am always available to help them in understanding schoolwork, and assisting them can help myself in understanding concepts even further. Not simply for the title, but for the fact that it is easy for me to cope with the responsibility. Some activities that I exceed in include planning, organizing, and completing the actual work, so that the directed goal is always reached in the end. I can also contribute with creativity and new ideas if needed. Another example of my influence, like mentioned before, is in helping others with problems. I can establish my aid academically, like tutoring on a student’s homework, or personally, like providing support to a friend who needs it.
