Basketball shooting has become a lost art in all levels of basketball. Just turn on a college or professional game to see the number of free throws or open shots that are missed badly. Surely if the best players in the world are missing shots then the lower levels are getting worse. How can this be you might ask? With all the technological advances, scouting, video analysis, and all the basketball shooting drills shouldn’t players be improving instead of regressing?

Why Less is More In Shooting

Shooting is a very simple process that nearly every player can master. The problem is not just working harder, although working hard is an important piece of the puzzle. You must work hard on the CORRECT fundamentals, if you a player wants to ever see consistency in their shooting. Most coaches, teams, and players work on shooting, but how often do they work on the correct fundamentals. As a player who has played at the highest level, I can tell you that it’s almost none. With all the basketball shooting drills these seems to be impossible to fathom.
