The Baptist denomination started in England in the late 16th century and the early 17th century it spread to the United States. The earliest Baptist church started between 1609 through 1612. The Baptist founder John Smyth lead 36 men and women into the church. In 1609 Smyth baptized himself and then his congregation. Not long after that he wrote a book stating that infant are not allowed to be baptized and antichristian have to be baptized to become part of the church congregation. After that Smyth left and give the church to Thomas Helwys in 1611.Two people Smyth knew wanted the spread the word. So they did, Roger Williams and John Clarke brought the Baptist denomination the United States around 1638 when the 13 colonies were still forming. Not long after they go the colonies they both had their own congregation in different parts of Rhode Island. Of course like any other denomination they think that god is higher than any other. Baptist are one of the most lenient of all denominations. Why? The Baptist believe in rights for all kinds of people. Baptist support other people’s believes and don’t judge them because they aren’t like them. They don’t claim to be the best Christian denomination. Most of them understand that people fail and that’s what you should do any why when you are a Christian I think myself. Now times they think you don’t have to be baptized to be saved as long as you believe god is the one and only savior. Another thing is if they want to spread the word of god they never try to force others to believe what they believe. My personal option think they are great people and all Christians need to be excepting of others. Of course all of these things are basically options not saying all Baptist are like
