The potential benefits and consequences of conducting background checks on employees are great and a must. Rather it is a small or large business it is very important to conduct a background check on employees. Studies show 3 out of 10 business failures are caused by employee theft. Employers need reliable employees they can trust. Certain position without a doubt such as police, security, and school officials just to name a few should be checked. People want to think the person they are working with or taking care of their love ones would not be harm. Negligent hiring lawsuits are on the rise. Federal and State laws require that background checks be conducted for certain jobs. The times we are living in now makes it necessary that …show more content…
The first matter at hand would be to contact the potential employee. Explain without going into detail that their background is questionable about a prior employer. Hopefully the potential employee will be able to substantiate if it true or false. As the Manager a request would be given to bring in some type of court document that would clear up the matter. If the matter was from something they may have happened as a juvenile same rule applies show proof. As the Manager the company would like to hire the right person and make sure if there is some type of question about the individual background it is cleared up if possible.
A background check can be done on anyone for free or for a fee. Just remember when a request is made for anywhere that means you get just where the individual put they reside and worked. This will allow a person to get real records. Some database companies fail to tell the consumer they are getting either nothing or marginal information. It is important also for business to check out who they are employing to conduct the background check. The bottom line is to be able to benefit from the background check and to try to keep everyone in a safe place as possible. Background checks are a necessity to us all.
