After orbiting the moon 10 times on Christmas Eve, the mission was complete. The astronauts were to return to earth. The astronauts returned back to earth. At approximately 10:51 a/m/ on December 27,1968 the Apollo 8 splashed into the Pacific Ocean. It continued its landing and reached the recovery ship at 12:20 p.m.
Frank Borman, one of the astronauts had a certain education to meet the required expectations for the flight. He attended Tucson High Magnet School. He then, attended US Military Academy, West Point, NY. After graduating he was commissioned in the US Air Force. In 1975, he obtained his master degree in aeronautical engineering at California Institute of Technology. From here, he didn’t become an astronaut right away.
