When Atticus raises Jem and Scout, he tries to instill good morals into their mind. After all the years that Scout and Jem had wondered about Boo Radley, Scout was surprised to learn that he was a nice person, compared to what the rumors of Maycomb said about him. The whole town did not know him and yet they made hysterical assumptions of Boo’s personality “An’ they chased him ’n’ never could catch him’ cause they didn’t know what he looked like, an’ Atticus, when they finally saw him, why he hadn’t done any of those things… Atticus, he was real nice...” (Lee 376).
