No dream, just inequality. Today we are faced with many problems as to why the American dream is no more than a dream. First and foremost we were hit with the great recession, income inequality just to name a few. Many who migrated leaving everything behind to reach the land of the free and opportunity were left with nothing more than broken promises. Without having the proper tools to ever experience for themselves what everyone else always talked about. From personal experience and my own view is that the American dream is dead!

Many immigrants that risked their lives to reach the land of the free thought they would have a fresh start. A new life to finally have a better paying job to be able to provide for their families. Owning that home with the white picket fence in the suburbs was the ultimate goal, proving you had made it. That was until the devouring of every hard working American dream started happening “what is the value of the American dream? How will the worth of that dream be altered after absorbing hundreds of billions of dollars in losses incurred from the subprime mortgage crises, along with the accompanying rising unemployment, global stock market declines, and forecast recession? And in what ways has the term predatory lending shaped perceptions and attitudes of the subprime mortgage crisis, giving rise to image of large, avaricious institutions gobbling up not only the American homeowners, but the American dream itself? (624). although, the increase in loans was not a bad deal for everyone. For many that used to be considered to have low credit scores like minorities and immigrants, brought many opportunities in becoming a homeowner. But we were unaware of the risk and crises we were about to hit
