Alternative Medicine

(Loh-Hagan 10) The success with the condition you have depends on the expertise of the acupuncturist, the type of acupuncture used, and how bad the condition is. “Previous surgery in an area tends to make acupuncture for pain in that area less successful.” Sessions last fifteen minutesto an hour. (Loh-Hagan 17) Acupuncture can treat not just humans, but animals too. (Bratman 117)
When you visit your choice of acupuncturist, they will ask about your health history and check your pulse, tongue’s shape, color, and examine additional parts if they feel the need to. After examination, he or she will properly put a treatment plan together to address the condition. First, to begin the treatment, the patient will lay on a table while the acupoints are stimulated on parts of the body. It is common for most people to feel little to pain when the needles are placed. Most people also report that they feel very relaxed after their session. (How
