Today in America, immigration; the act of moving from one country to another country for permanent residence, comes with a negative connotation. Generally, this is due to the fact that the word “immigration” is affiliated with issues like terrorism, crime, and overpopulation. It is for this same reason that countless Americans question the benefits of the immigration system. Since this is true for several Americans, the question we should ask ourselves should be- Does immigration contribute to a better America? In fact, if it were not for the immigration of several foreigners to this country, America would not be considered the “melting pot” of culture it is today. Due to these cultural mixes, several foods, sources of entertainment and freedoms would not exist today.
