In November of 2016 my friend and I were arrested at Laurel Montana’s local Walmart for shoplifting. My position altered the moment we were caught and arrested. It was black Friday and we believed that we were invincible and could do anything. We were caught by an undercover shopper, that witnessed us shoving makeup into our bags. I was up there with my friends family and it was embarrassing.We were handcuffed and transported from Walmart to the Laurel Police Station. The handcuffs were tight and uncomfortable to sit with. I didn't have to go to court or anything like that, but I did have to pay restitution, $162.46, to Walmart. We had returned all the makeup and everything we took. I will never again shoplift or do anything to jeopardize my future. One mistake almost ruined my life. I don't ever want to go through that again. I came to accept that I had made a mistake and was willing to accept responsibility for my actions. Finally I've grown to realize that actions have consequences the memory will always remain a vivid one. The details will foggy but I will always remember.
