Boarding the raft, I am excited for what is next but also nervous. I had butterflies, thinking about what was going to happen. I come to realize the first part of the rafting is just scenic tour no white-water. I have a sense of calmness after hearing this. Now I just sit back and enjoy the wonderful view, while floating down the river. The enormous mountains to the left of the river, tower over everything. The murky green water mixed with the gray stony bank created a beautiful image in my mind. It was so peaceful, I close my eyes and just listen to the water flowing and birds …show more content…
The tour guide starts going over safety protocol, like what they do on airplanes. He went over what to do if one of us falls out or the raft flips over. This was not comforting to hear, caused me to get anxious. I had these thoughts of the raft flipping in my mind. I can see the white-water in the distance. We draw closer and closer to it, all the while my heartbeat increases. Each of has a paddle to hold and use when the tour guide tells us too. I was gripping the handle as if it was a stress ball. The first white-water was rather light, turning the boat here and there, also some water splashing up. I was sitting at the very front of the boat, so I was splashed with most of the icy water. I started to realize it was not as bad as I thought. My anxiousness turned into adrenaline and
