My First Day of High School
One day I’ll never forget is my first day of high school. The first day was crazy, the hallways were busy, the older students were frightening and the whole new environment was just scary in itself. That day began early in the morning, to be exact… at 5:45am.That day I woke up fully awake, and basically jumped out of my bed. I had my outfit picked out for over a week already. It was supposed to be really hot that day, so I wore jeans, a cute tank top, and my new sneakers. After I got dress, I did my hair, my classic hairstyle was a high top ponytail with a braid. I then made sure my backpack was fully packed, and went downstairs to eat. At around 6:25 I was waiting for the bus. I remember my mom telling me how she

First thing that morning we had to go to our orientation classroom. My classroom was the first on the left when you walked in, so it wasn’t a big challenge trying to find it. I went in, and took my seat in the front. The classroom felt like it hasn’t been used in a few years. Shortly after, the warning bell rang followed by the late bell. I received another copy of my schedule, and went to my locker to try my lock again. After meeting orientation room, I had chorus first period, then honors geometry (fun fact: I felt super cool having an honors class for the first time), next was world history, and then was science research. This class was the most intimidating class ever. First, there were only four other freshmen in that class, and the rest were all upperclassman. Second, my teacher stated he was teaching the class on a college level, which is extremely intimidating for any kid out of middle school to hear, especially on their first day. Once that class was over, it was my lunch period. I quickly met up with my friends, so I wasn’t eating alone at lunch. The cafeteria was completely wild, you have the tables in the back corners full of seniors, and then you had the freshmen in the front. My friends and I shortly found a table, and waited to be called for lunch. In middle school we used to have to wait to be called to get lunch, so we thought we

My first week of high school was pretty good. I like all of my teachers, and my classes are in a good order. It was difficult waking up early on the first day because prior to then, the earliest I had woken up during the summer was 8:00. I got lost going to FACS on the first day, and then again on the second day. I found my regular classes easily enough, and I haven’t gotten any tardies.…

I remember first day of freshman year walking into my first period class at 8 am, sitting down and in huge letters across the board it said Mrs. Hillis. As I sat down I was already very nervous due to my past experience in math and now being in a high school math class I felt it could not get much worse. As I sit there I turn to my left and hear the teacher pounding on her keyboard and sipping on her coffee very obnoxiously. The bell to start first period then rang and was so loud I nearly jumped out of my seat. The teacher stands up with a stack of papers in her hand and starts handing them out to all of the students, as she is walking around I am patiently waiting for mine and when she finally slams it on my desk I read the top line and it says Quiz 1.…

As I went to my first day of school in a new city I was nervous, I didn't know if I was going to make any new friends, if I was going to fit in. The first day began and I immediately met Randy and Byanca, little did I know at the time that they would be my friends for all of my school career. Time went by and so did the grade levels, I would always struggle with one subject and thrive in another. During my elementary and middle school years I would struggle in language arts and history, but I would thrive in mathematics mainly because I love numbers.…

My first day of middle school was hell, I have always been good at school. My grades have never been bad and neither have my actions and or attendance. Probably from having a mom that is also a teacher. I look at that as a good thing though, watching kids just goof off and not come to school then high school rolled around and it was like I got to look down on them because they did not prepare for bigger and better things. School wasn't bad for me because it was hard, it was bad because i was always shy in school.…

I wanted to keep my book sack light, but to do this I had to make a few trips to my locker every day. It would definitely take me a minute or two because of the crowd, and I felt my locker just pointing and laughing at me as I tried to approach it. Despite the students rummaging through the halls, I was able to attend my classes on time. Of course, the first day of high school was mostly what I expected it to be like. It feels nice to have a fresh start, with some great teachers that certainly look forward to teaching me, and I most surely look forward to learning from…

Short shorts. Short shorts as far as the eye can see. This is what I saw all over ETSU’s beautiful campus as I went one day without my cell phone. Initially, I thought nothing much would come out of the seemingly uninteresting assignment, but I was mistaken. It proved to be an eye-opening day, mostly because I saw how much students were on their phones, I learned that I am terrible at telling time, and I can now cope with my social anxiety instead of jumping to my phone.…

I would be so quiet that I would just sit there and you could forget that I was in the room.…
