Her hair is a mixture of black and gray hairs and she has some wrinkles on her face. Regardless of her age though, she appears young and timeless because of the smile that never ceases to disappear from her face. When I asked her if I could interview her, she agreed and told me to fire away. From there, she told me about her life starting with her place of birth and parentage. She told me she was born in a coastal county-level city known as Taishan in the southern province, Guangdong which rests in the People 's Republic of China. I asked her to expand on where the place was located because I have never heard of that location and she responded by telling me that it was a medium sized area that was not really a big town or a small place in a rural area. It was considered to be medium sized. My aunt commented that it was kind of like the size of Brooklyn. Afterward, she informed me about her parents, which I was excited to learn because my grandparents passed away when I was very young. She said that her father was a farmer and would get up before 6 A.M. to get water from the river to water the plants that he grew. She continued saying that he would spend most of his time planting vegetables like locus roots, lettuce, bok choy, and more. My aunt told me that he would also take care of the animals in the farm and that there were all sorts of animals such as ducks, chickens, and pigs. Her mother, on the other hand was both a housewife and farmer. Her mother would wake up before 6 A.M. to help take care of the plants. According to my aunt, my grandma would go to the store to buy food before 10 A.M. because after that time period, there would be nothing left to buy, since there were hardly any stores. There were only a few stores, each with a specialization to a specific kind of things. Some stores would sell farming equipment, spices, or perishable items. She said her mother would go to the store every day
