At what age do most people begin looking at higher education? For me, the desire to be a lifelong learner has always been a driving factor. I caught the learning bug in 8th grade when I took latin at the community college. But how to be a lifelong learner? That was my struggle. I went through class after class, book after book, but I was always drawn back to business and psychology. Which lead to one of my best decisions. Due to this common denominator in my research, I chose to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. How nature and nurture come into play. How personality affects everything from work ethic to overall outlook on life. I find it comforting to know the reasonings behind human interactions and it is fascinating to learn more about those. In a professional setting I want to incorporate how psychology, motivation, learning, and conflict impact the work environment. The most efficient ways to incorporate these things are being in a leadership position, teaching, or consulting. So a mixture of those three things is my goal. Right now I am trying to learn as much about human relations as possible. The masters NAU is offering meshes beautifully with my goals and what I am currently pursuing on my own. This degree is my next milestone and I am especially excited about the consultation with professionals already in this field. After completing this degree I want to continue to give back to the academic world by implementing my newfound knowledge. Ideally I will be able to create my own workshop from what I already know and will learn. Then I can study the results of that to perfect my teaching abilities and consult with external companies or
