In “The Cask of Amontillado” Montresor gets upset when Fortunato insults him. That is why he wants to take revenge. He says, “The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could; but when he ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge.” (“Poe” Para 1).
