Beowulf kills monsters and help fight wars. Superman helps solve crimes and protect the innocent people of Metropolis. They are both physically and mentally above the average man. Beowulf did not need a weapon to kill Grendel because Beowulf was equally strong. Superman has super strength so he can lift very heavy things. Both Superman and Beowulf were superheroes of their time, and people looked up to both of them. After Beowulf killed Grendel his name was known all around the world. Superman was the role model for all young children because they wanted to be like him and dress like him. Like every hero, they have enemies. Even though Beowulf had many enemies, Grendel was the monster that changed how Beowulf looked at life. Superman’s main enemy Lex Luthor, who is ruthless, efficient, and creative. They both have super strength. In the poem, it states, “ soon found that never before had he felt… A mightier hand-grip; his mood was humbled,” In other words, it is saying that Grendel has never met a man with equal strength as him, so Grendel was happy that he could have an equal …show more content…
Beowulf is a mortal who died when the dragon put his poisonous fangs in Beowulf's neck. Superman can die, but he can only die by Green Kryptonite radiation because it is poison to Superman’s bloodstream and it causes intense pain and loss of his superpowers. Beowulf only helps people for the fame and the treasures. Superman does it for the the people and he genuinely wants to help people. Superman has many different powers while Beowulf only has super strength. Everyone knows who Beowulf is like “ Over all the world,or between the seas,or under the heaven,no hero was greater.”, but Superman is unknown to the world. The author of Beowulf is unknown, but the authors of Superman is Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Beowulf if an epic poem and Superman is a comic book. These differences make Beowulf and Superman
