In Macbeth and Wuthering Heights there is romance and conflict. Macbeth wants to be seen as a man in his wife’s eyes. He will do anything to get approval. In Wuthering Heights Heathcliff avenges his true loves death by gaining control of everything and taking away everything Edgar loved.

He wants to gain full control of Wuthering Heights. To accomplish that he forces Cathy to marry his son Linton, after their marriage he has full control of Wuthering Heights. His plan is almost complete except for one apart.
Lady Macbeth demonstrates her power over Macbeth by helping him when she ‘faints’ to get all of the attention off of Macbeth when he was rambling, and about to tell on himself for killing Duncan. “Help me hence ho! Look to the lady!” Throughout the book she demonstrates her power over Macbeth by questioning his manhood and making him feel the need to prove to her. It isn’t until the end of the book that Macbeth breaks out of her control.
With the death of Edgar he gains full control of the grange also. Throughout the entire novel the ghost of Catherine haunts him. He is endlessly taunted by his one true loves ghost. He longs to be reunited with her and the thought of her gone drives him almost insane.
In conclusion, Wuthering Heights and Macbeth are both filled with romance, conflict and revenge. Both novels show the ups and downs of romance. Both men want to prove to their true loves that they are men and will provide for them. Macbeth only wanted to be a man for his wife. Heathcliff wanted to avenge his true loves
